Is Hybrid the Way Forward?
I was reviewing my personal finances recently, and I realized that a huge chunk of my income goes straight into my gas tank. I've been hearing a lot about hybrid cars lately, and I wondered if it
might not be worth the investment. The problem is, I don't really know the first thing about hybrids.
I found a pretty extensive article on hybrid cars at HowStuffWorks.com, and if you're thinking of getting a hybrid then you should probably read this, too. It talks about the mechanics and technology, tells you how to drive a hybrid to
maximize your gas mileage and provides a ton of other useful information. For example, did you know that keeping your speed constant boosts fuel efficiency?

TGIF! (Thank God It's Friday)
That pretty much sums up my feeling this evening: Thank God It's Friday! Work is done, and for the next two days I can focus on the things in life that really make me happy.
I've got no trips planned this weekend, I will be attending a wedding on Saturday, so I'll probably watch some movies with my friends on Sunday and then just lounge around the house for the rest of
the day.
Did I mention I'm glad it's Friday?

Throwback Thursday...
–I'm just a drivin fool-
The last job I held required me to drive all over the metropolitan Los Angeles area.
It also required trips to Bakersfield, San Diego, Palm Springs and Ventura.
My Poor car, with a quarter million miles on it. surived the ordeal and still ran like a champ.
Of course, it was a Toyota!
I had a motorcycle once.
Actually, it was technically a scooter, due to the engine's placement and because of the step-through frame.
It didn't matter to me, though, since this Honda SIlverwing's 600CCs was plenty to get me all over LA.
Perhaps it was my "extremely early" midlife-crisis toy.
I justified its cost due to high fuel prices and ridiculously expensive parking in parts of Los Angeles that I was required to vist for my previous employer.
Eventually, I found it too expensive to maintain this bike and had to give it up.
I do miss the adrenaline-rush of my morning commute and the exhilaration that punctuated every evening commute, but selling it was a fair trade for the peace of mind my friends and loved ones had in knowing that I wouldn't get myself injured or killed on the freeway.
